The Transplant Museum
Due to bad weather the Cooke family did some more museums, just to keep dry. They visited the transplant museum in the Groot Schuur Hospital. As the name suggests its about the very first heart transplant carried out by Dr Christiaan Bernard, and the 3rd December 1967. As can be seen the museum is housed in the actual surgical theatre where the operation took place. This I am told by the Cooke's made it a little difficult to find as it was right smack in the middle of a vary large hospital with very little clue as to its location.
